One*Oak*Hill Hesston Angel

L001166195

DAM:  One*Oak*Hill Tweed Abalone

SIRE:  Becca's Hesston

D.O.B. 03-10-2000

We were so excited about the thought of adding Angel to our LaMancha herd.  Now that she's here, we're even more excited!  Angel is a very, very large girl.  She's very high-headed, has a lot of length and width, and stands on a very strong set of feet and legs, even at almost 9 years old.  Actually, she's held up quite well, and looks like a much younger doe.

We will be breeding Angel to Perry for spring kids, and then Angel will hit the show circuit - I think for the first time in her life!

Autumn-Acres Jolly Rancher

L001225817

DAM:  One*Oak*Hill Tweed Jostle

SIRE:  One*Oak*Hill Hesston Cycas

D.O.B. 03-02-2002

Jolly is quite the character!  She's a big, bold doe who's general appearance is the first thing you notice.  Jolly is also incredibly playful, and just a goof, even at nearly 7 yrs. old.  Jolly is a very correct doe with excellent breed character and overall conformation.  She's everything you'd expect from this breeding, and is every bit as nice as her full sister, CH Autumn-Acres Jamica, who is simply awesome.  We admire the 'Hesston' animals for their stature, overall size and bone, and correctness.  Jolly is just another great addition to our herd, and we can't wait for her to hit the show ring!  I don't think she's ever been shown before, so watch out for this girl - she demands your attention!  Oh yea, and she's got ONE wattle!!!<g>

Jolly has been bred to Perry for spring kids.  This breeding should be simply phenomenal and we expect kids with exceptional size and bone.

Longvu L*P Sinfonia *M

(Purebred Lamancha)

Dam:  CH Longvu X Dark Serenade

Sire:  Lucky*Star QM Paragon (Quixote Jo's Monet x Lucky*Star's F Krystal)

D.O.B. 2/22/04

"Nia" is an absolutely gorgeous girl.  She's the epitome of style and grace, loaded with dairy character, and incredibly smoothly blended.  Nia's biggest - and most obvious fault is her legs; she does not stand on strong, straight legs and has weak pasterns.  Our vet feels that she has a problem with the hormone, relaxin, which has cause her legs to become really quite crooked (despite copper and Bo-Se bolusing).  She does NOT seem to throw this deficiency.  Her daughters are every bit as smoothly blended and feminine as she is, and two have been retained in our herd.  I really believe that Nia has a lot to offer as a brood doe, so we're definitely keeping her around.  Plus, she has one incredible will to milk!  Heck, I can't hardly ever dry this girl up!

Left: Heaven, as a 4 yr. old.  Right: Heaven as a yearling.

Little Orchard T Pure Heaven 10*M

(Purebred Lamancha)

Dam: Little Orchard Pure Jazz

Sire: Li'l Dutch MP Trooper

D.O.B. 3-21-05

Show Record: RGCH x 1

1st x 4, 2nd x 1, 4th x 1

Best Udder in Class x 4

Ahh, Heaven - perfectly named.  This is MY girl; she's always by my side, and simply a joy to be around.  Added to that is the fact that she's just stunning!  She's not flashy in color, but boy - this girl has some general appearance!  Heaven has a long bone pattern, is incredibly tall, and is very balanced overall.  Her mammary system is just stitched on, and she has a lovely, well-extended, smooth foreudder.  Her rear udder is quite high and wide, has great lateral attachment and a nice strong medial.  Although I'm biased, I think her mammary system is flawless. I absolutely love my Heaven!  We've long admired the Little Orchard animals, and Heaven is the perfect example of why!  Heaven has gone to a few shows this year, and has placed 1st every time, and going RGCH x 1.  She's finally growing into her large frame and her general appearance is out of this world.  He biggest problem is that she starts to absorb her milk if she's bagged for more than 14 hrs.  This has hurt her in the show ring - the judges said that she'd have gone grand if only she would hold her milk!  Quite a compliment given our competition.

Heaven was bred to Perry and kidded with a 14 lb. single buckling, "Pony Boy".  Pony is easily Heaven's nicest kid to date, and he will be staying here - at least for now - so that he can breed a few does in the fall.  And, as usual, Heaven's udder is nothing short of spectacular.

Autumn-Acres Little Vixen

DAM:  GCH Willow Run Marek Venus

SIRE:  Autumn-Acres Black Zephyr

D.O.B. 04/30/2006

Well, Vixen.  Although I love her dearly, she's completely neurotic, but in a good, funny way!  She just becomes overly bonded to some humans, and overreacts occasionally.  But, she's a real beauty.  She epitomizes general appearance as well as dairy character; she's long and deep, and stands on nicely angulated, strong legs with good feet.  Her downfall - she had a precocious udder as a dry yearling, and freshened with mastitis.  She's nearly crazy when it comes to infusing her udder with meds.  We have been able to evaluate her mammary system, though, and it's very nice.  She has a high, wide rear udder with excellent attachment, strong medial and division of the halves, perfectly placed plumb teats, and she excels in both foreudder extension and smoothness of blending (and I'm a foreudder lunatic!).  Despite her mastitis and resulting scar tissue, her overall udder texture is soft and smooth.

Vixen has been bred to Hanky Panky for spring kids.  Another cross that should produce large, high-headed offspring with great mammary systems!  THANK YOU, Tammy, for this beautiful, very entertaining doe!

Heatherwood Don't Tempt Me

DAM:  Autumn-Acres Z Temptation

SIRE: Autumn-Acres T Jrome

D.O.B. 2006

"Temper", as I call her, is a long-boned, very streamlined, feminine doe, that is chamoisee in color.  She's just as sweet as can be, and could actually benefit from assertiveness training <g>.  Nonetheless, she stands on a strong set of feet and legs, and is medium in size.  She's freshened for a second time for us now, and her udder is very capacious with great attachment and soft texture.  Although her teats are properly placed and perfectly delineated, they curl a little bit (which I don't care for).  But, that's about all I don't like about her.  She's slower to mature but proving to be well worth the wait!

Irish Whisper DK Soft Concerto

Dam:  Longvu L*P Sinfonia *M

Sire:  Shammy's TU Drakker

D.O.B. 03/  /07

Show Record: 2nd x 1 (shown once)

"Cherry" is Nia's first doeling, and boy, she's a looker!  She's a big improvement over her dam in size of bone, yet maintains Nia's exceptional smoothness of blending, and overall general appearance.  Cherry is an average-sized doe that stands on a great set of feet and legs, and has one of the highest, widest escutcheons in our entire herd!  Cherry will freshen as a 2 yr. old first freshener in the spring of 2009.  Watch for this beauty in the showring!

Cherry has freshened with just the prettiest udder - I wish I could get a decent picture.  In addition to it's correctness, she has incredibly butter-soft texture.  Cherry is headed for the show ring!

Irish Whisper My Valentine

(Recorded Grade)

Dam: Honey Hill Kerry

Sire: 3-Wishes Kosh

D.O.B. 2/14/04

3x 1st; Best Udder in Class; 2x 2nd

I bought Valentine solely on the strength of her mother's mammary system.   Kerry, Valentine's dam, has an incredible udder, being very high and wide with excellent overall attachment.  Kerry has lived at my neighbor's house, and has been their family milker for years.  Once I saw her in milk, I knew that I just had to have a kid out of her.  Both of Valentine's parents are actually purebred LaManchas, but my neighbor never registered them, so Valentine will be registered as a Recorded Grade. Valentine is a big girl, having wonderful length and width.  She remains very feminine despite her power and strength.  And, she's just the most loving girl!

Irish Whisper DK Poison

Dam:  Irish Whisper My Valentine

Sire:  Shammy's TU Drakkar

D.O.B.

Poison is registered as a Recorded Grade, although in reality is a purebred LaMancha.  Her grandmother was never registered (however all 4 great grandparents were).  Anyway, I hope to get a full body picture of her soon, as she's just such a pretty girl.  She has a nicely attached udder, and milks up a storm!!  Ideally, I'd like to see smaller teats, but her orifices are large, and she milks like a dream, so I'll deal with them.  Her sweet, sweet, unassuming personality makes her a favorite around here.  I think I'll take her to the shows this season to see how she does.

Irish Whisper Circe Du Soleil

50% Lamancha 50% Nigerian Dwarf

Dam: 3-Wishes Daisy

Sire: Goodwood Monarch

D.O.B. 2/14/2001

MDGA Reg. #XL01027

Show Record: RGCH x 1, 1st x 1

Although Soleil isn't a purebred LaMancha, I consider her to be an exceptionally valuable member of the herd.  She's just a beauty to see, being very correct and exceptionally stylish.  She excels in dairy character as well, and has a nicely attached udder.  Soleil always has beautiful kids that sell quickly, and she milks nearly a gallon a day for an extended lactation.  She more than earns her keep!!  Oh, and she's a complete sweetheart - and smart too!!  Yes, I'm biased...<g>
