We were so tickled pink to be able to
acquire this girl! I just can't wait to get her into the show
ring - she's long and level, plenty of width and yet is very
feminine and loaded with dairy character. Her udder is just as
snug as they come, beautifully shaped and soft, and has clearly
one of the best - if not the best - udder in my herd (not that you
can tell by the horrible, hairy picture above!). After a nasty
kidding a couple years ago, Lassie has proven to be difficult to
settle.
Well, we had plans on retiring Lassie, but
her will to kid again brought her back into the game. Since she
wouldn't leave the buck barn (just longingly staring at the boys
<g>), we decided to go ahead and breed her. YO was her chosen
date, for which she seemed quite grateful. She kidded with a
single chocolate cou clair buckling that is currently being used
in Southern Michigan. Even at 11 yrs. old, Lassie's mammary
system is just as snug as it was when she was much younger.

Words
can't describe how happy we are to have Summer here! Once
upon a time, I owned her dam, Stormy, and bred her to Bananas, and
off to Maine she went. Over the years, I've admired this doe
for her dairy character, strength in feet and legs, and
oh-that-udder! Since Summer is now an aged doe, very few
kids, if any, will be available. I just can't wait to get
her into the showring! And yes, even at 9 yrs. old, her
udder is still glued on and productive.

Shadow is just that - a shadow of her dam,
Polly. Shadow is a very elegant little girl, and would do well in
the show ring if her attitude would improve a little ~. Shadow
kidded with quads - 2 bucks, 2 does, all gorgeous. Her udder is
tightly attached with great texture and nice big, easily-milked
teats. She's really milking well, milking nearly 4 lbs/day -
she's a keeper!
As a yearling, Shadow miraculously survived
a horrible bout of Entero. Her body temperature was too cold to
even register on the thermometer. This poor little girl was the
sickest I've ever seen in a goat, and still survived the ordeal.
However, that is not to say that there isn't residual damage.
Clostridium will emit neurotoxins, and although she's healthy and
happy now, she still has some trouble with coordinating her front
legs. It's probably too noticeable for the show ring, but since
she's such a beautiful doe, she can just stay home and be an
outstanding brood doe.

Echo is a doe that we got back a couple
years ago, and needless to say, we're very happy we did. She
has lovely general appearance and a nice mammary system to match.
Added to that, she's milking well - about 4 lbs/day. We're
going to add Echo to the show string and see how well she does -
watch for this one!
Well, we made it to one 3-ring show where Echo did great!
After her first show (for which she was peeling miserably from
being sunburned), we got a tip on how to clean that up, and the
next day she won both her classes and went Reserve! We're
just very proud of this girl.

Whisper Patticake 2*D
Dam: Irish Whisper JM Peekaboo *D
Sire: Irish Whisper JS Sweet Success
D.O.B. 11-21-03
Well, Patticake has some issues.... She was
a single kid born to Peek-a-boo and was still somehow so twisted
up that neither goat barely survived the kidding. Patticake
incurred a broken rear leg during the whole ordeal, and although
it was immediately splinted by the vet - and is now fully healed -
she refuses to use it while walking. She'll use it to scratch her
ears and to occasionally balance herself, but that's it. She's
got some psychological issues concerning the whole leg. Plus, she
lived in the house with me over the winter so she's now got some
serious issues being a goat. Poor little thing.... :o( But, I
just love this little doe - if it wasn't for that rear leg, she'd
be one of my top show prospects. She's got tremendous length and
depth of body, and just oozes dairy character. Plus, her mom made
Top Ten as a yearling doe, so the genetics are awesome as well.
I should mention that in the udder picture,
Patticake was NOT bagged. That particular day was the day after
one of her kids was sold, so she was only nursing one. Still,
and although I'm biased, I think her udder is just beautiful!
Patticake is, and continues to be, my very best brood doe!

Irish Whisper RingAround Rosie
3*D
Dam: Irish Whisper JS Patticake
Sire: Twin Creek's KM Jupiter's Moon
D.O.B. 2/13/2006
Rosie is one of quads born to Patticake in
2006. She looks quite a bit like Patticake, both in coloring and
in conformation, although I think she may be a little longer
bodied than Patticake. Rosie is the product of a tight
linebreeding and we're really hoping for some serious mammary
genetics! Like her mother, Rosie is a very easy keeper, and tends
to gain weight easily.
Update: Rosie has turned out to be
quite the little dairy doe! She's milked off all of her
'baby-fat' and is looking beautiful. Additionally, she's
milking well and has a beautiful mammary system. As much as we'd like to have her on our
show string, Rosie just doesn't have the temperament for it, so
she'll stay home and make pretty babies for us.

I'm so excited about Goldie - she has that
certain 'look-at-me' aire about her, and for good reason - she's
gorgeous! If she turns out anything like her older sister, Rosie,
then she'll be a keeper for sure!
Sure enough, Goldie freshened beautifully.
We love her mammary system being so tightly attached, nice-sized
teats, and a lovely foreudder. Unfortunately she freshened
with mastitis last year, and although she was treated and dry
treated, she was slightly uneven this year also. But I feel
that she really has a lot to add to the herd, so she's staying
right here. Her buckling by Cain is currently residing in
Vestaberg at the Maple Ridge herd, and already has some daughters
with their Jr. legs!

Cotton is just a stunning doe, all the way
around. This picture really needs some updating! She freshened
with a beautiful "Willie"-type udder (high, wide, tightly attached
with nice-sized teats, not that you can tell by the above
picture...). She's also lost quite a bit of her 'baby-fat' and is
now a beautiful, sleek, long-bodied, sharp dairy doe.

Irish Whisper W Soda Pop
Dam: Irish Whisper Tootsie Pop
Sire: Sugar Creek C Willful
D.O.B. 4/22/07
Although bottle-raised, Soda's really
inherited her dam's personality...entitled <g>! Soda, like her
dam, is also a real sweetheart. She's really a nicely put
together package also. So far, Willie is putting beautifully
clean, wide escutcheons on his kids, and adding quite a bit of
dairy character. Soda is a high-headed, very stylish doe. Soda freshened with a beautiful udder. She has tons of attachment, a beautiful udder floor,
nice sized, plumb teats, rear udder height and width, and a
nicely extended foreudder. I'd like to see a bit more capacity,
but I expect that to improve as time goes on. Definitely a
keeper!

Irish Whisper Tommy Girl
Sire: Irish Whisper RB Black Jack
Dam: Irish Whisper Workin' Girl
D.O.B. 03/28/2008
Tommy is probably the last kid out of
WeeGee, so she's very special to us. She was sold when she
was younger, but has returned to us as a dry yearling. You
can't tell from these pictures, but Tommy has a ton of general
appearance. She freshened with a decent udder as a first
freshener, although I'd like to see more division between the
halves and added capacity. Now that she has freshened again,
Tommy's mammary system is quite nice! I find it so amazing
how much some udders can change between 1st and 2nd freshenings -
and this is one of them. We've retained Tommy's buckling by
Ironman - Polo Sport.

Irish Whisper Sugar Cain
2010 LA: V+VV 87
Dam: Irish Whisper Ringaround Rosie
Sire: Irish Whisper Raisin' Cain AI
D.O.B. 02-22-09
Sugar is a lovely, *rare* <g> daughter
out of our completely neurotic Rosie. I love everything
about Rosie excepting the fact that she refuses to walk when she's
in the show ring - and I mean literally. But, Sugar is a big
improvement in that area. Sugar freshened with a beautiful
mammary system - very typical of the Cain daughters. We're
looking forward to seeing what another freshening holds for this
doe.

Irish Whisper WB Chamomile
Dam: Irish Whisper Fancy Ginger
Sire: Irish Whisper White Bread
D.O.B. / /2009
Cammi is a doe that we just got back.
She was sold as a kid, freshened once, and was dried up shortly
thereafter. But, from what's remaining of her udder, she looks
to have perfectly plumb teats that are nice and large, and has a
large area of attachment. Another freshening will really tell
us more. Structurally she's very correct, and I'm looking
forward to seeing how she does in the show ring.

Triple S Farms Bella
Dam: Irish Whisper SK Iceberg
Sire: Triple S Farms Stampers (Sugarcreek
Willful x IW SK Euphrates)
D.O.B. / /2009
Bella is an absolutely gorgeous doe.
Her general appearance is exceptional. She's just the kind of
doe that always catches your eye no matter what she's doing.
Bella kidded with twin bucks (that she's raising), and her udder is
very promising. Normally we pull kids at birth (which we did),
but Bella kept getting out and stealing all the other bottle babies.
It was a nightmare - the babies were screaming and Bella was
screaming, so I just decided to let her have her soon-to-be wethers
<g>. Unfortunately Bella is not friendly, but we're working on
that. We're planning on breeding Bella back late this year for
late spring babies.

Irish Whisper Ima Single Lady
Dam: Sugar Creek Red Sky at Night
Sire: MI Sugarcreek XC Yippy Skippy
D.O.B. 1/21/10
"Ima" is absolutely gorgeous, and every
bit as wild. She's a bright red chamoisee with white
splashes and has her sire's adorable waddles. We did pull
her at birth for bottle feeding, but Opie literally nearly died of
depression, so we let her have her only baby, and now she's way
more than a wild child! We plan on working with her and
getting her into the ring next year.
